GRAPES: 100% Melnik 55 (a.k.a. Early Melnik Vine) - the signature red local Bulgarian grape variety of Struma Valley
VINEYARD: All the grapes are coming from Orbelia’s own vineyards – 15 years old vines near the village of Levunovo
WINEMAKING: Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation followed by 10 months lees ageing. The aim of the winemakers is to showcase the authentic varietal characteristics of Melnik 55 therefore no oak is used at any time during the winemaking process in order to preserve the wine’s pure and natural taste.
TECHNICAL FACTS: ABV 14%, Total Acidity: 5.51 g/l, Residual Sugars: 2.4 g/l
COLOUR: Bright ruby colour with purple hues
NOSE: Intense fruity aromas of cherries and herbs
PALATE: Very harmonious and well-balanced, medium bodied with attractive red fruit notes, juicy acidity and long lasting after taste.
