Damyanov Family Winery

Damyanov Family Winery

The beginning of Damyanov winery was given by grandpa Prokop Marinkov - a participant in World War II. After the end of the war he created a farm including vineyards and became a respected and renown farmer in the region. The communist regime took away his farm for the state’s benefit and it was given back to the family after 1991. Yanush Damyanov, his son-in-law and a long-standing school principal and prominent public figure, played a major role in the restoration of the farm. The whole family, led by Vladimir Damyanov, son of Yanush, took part in the subsequent development of the vineyards.
As a natural extension of this family’s love to the vineyards, the idea of creating a family-operated winery was born, and nowadays, after years of hard work and determination, this idea has finally come to life. It’s a boutique family winery, where they make craft wines with individual character, based on their family values, love and passion for winemaking - Bulgarian wines for true connoisseurs. They look after the vineyards in an organic, bio-friendly manner by applying natural farming practices and they are aiming to vinify their high quality grapes into wines that naturally reflect the spirit of their region’s land and nature. For Damyanovs growth is measured in quality, not quantity, they are focused in achieving a long-term and sustainable success.
